National landlord faces lawsuits in Cincinnati
Second Avenue, a big corporate landlord that owns 200+ rentals around town, is getting sued by both tenants and the city. Complaints range from mold to sewage problems, and courts already flagged their leases as unfair. If the city’s lawsuit sticks, it could mean stronger protections for renters and more accountability for landlords who don’t live here.

Gas prices spike across the Tri-State
If your last fill-up felt like highway robbery, you’re not wrong. Prices spiked this week after a refinery in Indiana went down, cutting into Midwest supply. AAA says things should ease once repairs are done, but for now—plan on pricier trips to the pump, just in time for the long weekend. Unless you have an EV, then ignore this!

Reds reveal 2026 Opening Day opponent
Baseball fans got some news to circle: in 2026, the Reds will open their season at home against the Boston Red Sox. A rare matchup that brings one of the sport’s most historic teams to Great American Ball Park—on what’s basically a citywide holiday anyway. Honestly, had to look up what made this so rare!

Cincinnati sets new weather record
Fall decided to sneak in early. You know, that midwest meme where we have false fall and then back to summer? It's one of those! CVG hit 49° on August 27, breaking an 80-year-old record for that date. Great for sweater season lovers, but meteorologists say it’s also another example of the wild swings we’ve been seeing in our weather patterns.
