Beyond Zinzinnati: Every Oktoberfest Worth Hitting Around Cincinnati This Season

Is Oktoberfest Zinzinnati the only Oktoberfest worth going to in Cincinnati?

Not even close. Zinzinnati is the big one — but Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky run a full Oktoberfest season from late August into October, with neighborhood and regional celebrations spread across nearly every weekend. Here's the full lineup, organized by weekend so you can actually plan around it.

Weekend of August 28–30: Germania Park Oktoberfest

Hosted by the Germania Society of Cincinnati — a tradition dating back to 1971 — this one kicks off the season at Germania Park, 3529 W. Kemper Road. Admission is $5, with kids 12 and under and active military admitted free. It's a smaller, more traditional setting than the riverfront crowds, with a genuinely old-world feel. Weekend of September 5: Anderson & Cartridge Brewing

Anderson Park District Oktoberfest — Saturday, September 5, at 6910 Salem Rd. Live music, local eats, craft beer from regional breweries, wiener dog races, and German-style games. A solid, family-friendly option for anyone on the east side who'd rather skip downtown crowds entirely.

Cartridge Brewing Oktoberfest — also September 5, at Cartridge Brewing in Maineville (1411 Grandin Rd.), 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feels more like an afternoon at a local taproom than a full festival production.

Weekend of September 11–13: Riverfront Double-Header, Plus Springboro

Covington Oktoberfest and Oktoberfest Newport both land this weekend, free admission at both. Covington brings food, craft vendors, live music, and competitions to Goebel Park and MainStrasse Village, expanding this year onto 6th and Main Streets. Newport's version, at Festival Park at the Levee, adds a full carnival on top of the usual food and entertainment. Good warmup for the big one later in the month. Springboro Oktoberfest — September 11–12 at 5 West Mill Street, Springboro. Family-friendly with authentic German food, biers, and wines, games, polka music, and a Kids Fun Zone. $5 per guest (free for kids 12 and under, and active military with ID).

September 12: Zieglerfest at MadTree

Zieglerfest at MadTree Taproom starts at 10 a.m. with Bingo (register to save your seat), a Red Dog dog event in the parking lot at noon, a live German band from 3–7 p.m., stein-holding competitions from 3–7 p.m., and German beer, food, and prizes all day. Free admission.

September 17–20: Oktoberfest Zinzinnati

Weekend of September 24–27: Braxton, Loveland & Sonder

Oktoberfest at Braxton Factory 52 — September 24–27, with food, drinks, games, and live music. Free admission.

Loveland Oktoberfest — September 25–26 in downtown Loveland at Nisbet Park, a walkable riverside setting that's worth the drive on its own.

Sonder & Friends Oktoberfest — September 26 at Sonder Brewing, starting at 10 a.m. with an Oktoberfest 5K run/walk (register here), followed by German-style beers from Sonder and local brewery friends, festive food, live music, dancing, games, raffles, and local shopping. Free admission to the festival itself.

October 2–4: Cincinnati Donauschwaben's Oktoberfest

The last one standing — and the only Oktoberfest in Greater Cincinnati held in October. Held at 4290 Dry Ridge Rd., the Cincinnati Donauschwaben's Oktoberfest runs three days with over 25 imported and domestic beers on draft (Hofbräuhaus, Warsteiner, Paulaner, and the new house-brewed Schwaben Lager), pit-roasted Bavarian pig and chicken, homemade German sausage, stuffed cabbage, goulash with spätzle, homemade tortes and pastries, funnel cakes, goetta, and more. Why the smaller festivals are worth your time

Zinzinnati earns its "largest in the country" title, but that scale comes with long lines and a lot of company. These neighborhood versions trade size for character — shorter waits, more local flavor, and in a few cases, a genuinely old-school beer garden feel you won't get downtown.
